Blog 8: Cristiano Ronaldo Season Recap
Another best player alongside Messi, CR7 has had a wonderful and marvellous season with the Old Lady. He has had some extraordinary stats this season as he played 33 games in the Serie out of 38 and scoring a total of 31 goals which is quite a fantastic job being 35 years old. He has had some disappointing moments as he missed a couple of penalties and only assisted 5 times after playing for 2920 minutes in the Serie A. He has alone won Juventus their precious Serie A trophy which is their 9th in a row and 2nd in a row for the Portuguese. He was just short of 5 goals to winning the Serie A Top Goalscorer of the season as he missed out to Ciro Immobile.
UEFA Champions League
The All-Time Top Scorer of the Champions League is not having a great spell in the UCL as stats show he has played 7 games out of which he only scored 2 goals, pretty disappointing huh? Juventus will next play against Lyon on 8th August in the second leg of the Round of 16, they are down by 1 after their loss in France against Lyon but Cristiano Ronaldo is always there when his team needs him. Will he give another comeback like how he did against Atletico Madrid in 2018-19 UCL? Well, let's not talk about that we don't want any Atletico fan crying after reading this😆.
Conclusion
Overall it's been a decent season for Ronaldo although it could've been better. He has had a total of 4633 minutes of playtime on the field and there is no doubt about his strength and fitness either. He has 85% pass completion per game in the Serie A and 83% pass completion in the Champions League which is very impressive looking at how defensive Juventus play now under Sarri. He averages 0.96 goals-per 90 minutes, 0.45 assists per 90 minutes and 0.09 bookings per 90 minutes. He has scored a total of 46 goals this season in all competition this season which is in the Top 3 performances.
