Blog 6: 2019-20 SEASON ROUNDUP

Welcome back to SportsWithJai07, 2019-20 season has been spectacular may it be UEFA Champions League or any other Leagues in Europe. Let's get going with the final matchday results and observations with the starting dates of 2020-21 season at the end of this blog.

Premier League 2019-20-Matchday-38->

Liverpool had already secured the EPL and the club manager Jurgen Klopp just wanted to finish the season with a win against Newcastle which did eventually happen as they sit on top of the 2019-20 points table with 99 points. On the other hand, three teams including Chelsea FC, Leicester City and Manchester United were fighting with their opponents to secure a place in the 2020-21 UCL. Chelsea won against Wolves with two first-half injury-time goals from the Blues and Manchester United won against Leicester by two goals to nil which eventually saw Leicester losing out to the UCL and saw Chelsea and United go further to the group stage of the 2020-21 Champions League. Jamie Vardy won the Golden Boot after scoring 23 times this season.

La Liga 2019-20-Matchday-38->

It has been an unpredictable season of La Liga as both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid were hungry for the title this year. Before the outbreak, FC Barcelona was at the top of the table and was ruling La Liga but since the restart of football, they had a very bad form and eventually lost the title to Real Madrid who didn't lose a single match after the return and were in the blazing form(Tho they got lots of penalties😜). As it stands Real Madrid ended the season with a draw against CD Leganes where both the teams scored two goals. Whereas FC Barcelona ended the season with a power-packed performance against D.Alaves where they scored five goals and conceded none. Real Madrid ended the season with 87 points and FC Barcelona with 85 points with Lionel Messi being the top scorer yet again with 25 goals.

Italian Serie A 2019-20-Matchday-38->

It's been a competitive season for Juventus with their new manager, Maurizio Sarri, as they faced tough competition from Atalanta and Inter Milan. The final matchday saw Juventus losing to AS Roma where Gonzalo Higuain opened the scoring in the first five minutes but eventually saw the champions go down very badly as AS Roma scored three goals to secure a win. Inter Milan, on the other hand, won against Atalanta by scoring two goals and securing second place in the points table which was not acceptable by their manager, Antonio Conte. Ciro Immobile won the Serie A Golden Boot as well as the European Golden Shoe by scoring 36 goals beating Robert Lewandowski who scored 34 goals.
