La Liga                                         

One of the greatest players in the world Lionel Messi has yet again performed very well in all the competitions he has played. The Argentinian forward appeared in 33 games in La Liga playing for about 2900 minutes, yes you read it right, he also scored 25 goals to become yet again the top scorer of La Liga 2019-20. Barcelona had a great start to the season and so did Messi but as the COVID-19 outbreak emerged, the team collapsed giving Real Madrid the first spot in the points table. Messi anyways continued giving a wonderful performance by scoring goals and assisting. He assisted 21 times in La Liga alone. 

UEFA Champions League

2019-20 UCL has not ended yet and is postponed until 8th August. Till now Messi has played 6 games and a total of 480 minutes of on-field playtime. During this, Messi scored 2 goals and a total of 3 assists. Barcelona still has to reach the quarter-final of the UCL and will face Napoli where is aggregate remains as 1-1.

Conclusion

Overall there have been some ups and downs this season for both the club and the player. The player was disappointed as the club didn't win any cup including the La Liga trophy. Although Messi averages 0.78 goals per 90 minutes, 0.66 assists per 90 minutes and 0.13 bookings per 90 minutes. Messi is not a player who gets booked a lot of time but he got a total of 7 yellow cards after playing 3700 minutes on the field.
